This is the most important part: When you use Boba BS to convert your bank statements, your sensitive financial information—like transaction descriptions, names, account numbers, and amounts—**never leaves your computer.** Seriously.

1. Local Processing: All the heavy lifting of reading your PDF happens right in your web browser. Your original bank statement file is never uploaded to our servers.
2. Data Scrambling: Before anything is sent to us, your browser creates a special, privacy-safe version of your PDF. All sensitive text is replaced with random characters.
3. Layout Only: We only receive the non-sensitive "blueprint" of your statement—things like table headers and column positions. This helps us understand the structure so we can improve our conversion accuracy without ever seeing your personal data.

What Information We DO Collect (and Why)

To provide our service, we need to collect some basic information. We only collect what's necessary and use it responsibly.

• Google Account Information: When you log in, we use your Google account to create and manage your Boba BS profile. This includes your Google User ID, email address, and name. This helps us link your credits and conversion history to you.
• Credits and Transaction History: We keep a record of the credits you purchase and use. This includes details about your credit packages and conversion activities (e.g., how many pages converted). Your credits never expire!
• Anonymized Usage Data: For our free trial, we use your IP address to track daily page usage to prevent abuse. This data is anonymized and not linked to your personal identity. We also collect general, anonymized data about how our service is used to help us improve it (e.g., which banks are most popular, overall conversion success rates).
• Submitted Issue Files: If you choose to use our "Help Us Improve" feature, you upload a *scrambled, privacy-safe* PDF. This file contains only layout information, no sensitive data, and helps us add new banks or fix conversion issues.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain our service, including managing your credits and conversions.

Data Retention

We retain your Google account information and credit balance for as long as your account is active.

• Transaction History: We keep your transaction history (purchases and credit usage) for one (1) year after your account is deleted for auditing purposes. After this period, this data is also anonymized.
• Anonymized Data: Anonymized usage data and scrambled issue files may be retained indefinitely to help us continuously improve our service. This data cannot be linked back to you.

Your Choices & Account Deletion

You are in control of your data.

• Account Deletion: You can delete your Boba BS account at any time through your profile page. When you delete your account, we will remove your personal profile information and any remaining credits from our active database.
• Cookies: You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of our service may not function properly without cookies.
